Hoima City residents on Saturday teamed up with their Mayor Brian Kaboyo to clean untidy places of the urban area. Dubbed “KEEP HOIMA CITY CLEAN” exercise which is done on every first Saturday of the month was spearheaded by Kaboyo with the chief cleaner being the Mayor of Koboko, Wilson Sanya. They started from Hoima central market at 7:00am. Police are holding a 32-year-old woman for allegedly burning her husband with hot cooking oil. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson has identified the suspect as Eunice Kiiza, a resident of Bubanda village, Kitamba parish, Bwijanga sub-county, Masindi district. The incident which happened on April 29 at around 10:00pm followed a domestic quarrel with her husband identified as Benard Achidri, a resident of the same area. Kiiza accused Achidri of cheating on her with other women in the same vicinity.Kiiza is said to have prepared hot cooking oil as the quarrel went on that she later poured on her husband’s body.…

Hoima taxi drivers defeated Muslim Clerics 2-0 to lift this year’s idd al-Fitr Football cup. The match was played at Booma grounds in Hoima City on Monday evening. Goals scored by Ronald Barongo alias Tadic, a re-known driver in Hoima Taxi Park, all in the second half were enough to seal victory for the drivers. Hoima City council in Match 2022, approved an ordinance intended to govern washing of cars and motorcycles, disorderly and illegal parking to ensure an organized urban area. The by-law, first proposed on January 19, during an extraordinary council meeting at Resort Hotel in Hoima City, was passed unanimously after being developed with the guidance from the Solicitor General.
